AI chip start-up Groq is in speak to raise a fresh $ 600 million at a near $ 6 billion evaluation , resources inform Bloomberg, although the deal isn’t yet last and terms can alter.
Groq elevated $ 640 million at a $ 2 8 billion valuation in November 2024, making this double the evaluation in about nine months. Groq formerly increased regarding $ 1 billion.
The new round is led by Austin-based firm Disruptive, Bloomberg reports. The November round was led by Blackrock, with involvement from Neuberger Berman, Kind One Ventures, Cisco, KDDI, and Samsung Driver Fund.
Groq was established by Jonathan Ross, who formerly worked at Google creating its Tensor Processing Unit chip. The start-up arised from stealth in 2016
This new raising follows Groq introduced in May an unique partnership with Bell Canada to power the telco’s large AI facilities project. In April, Groq partnered with Meta to use AI framework to speed up Llama 4 reasoning. Neither Disruptive nor Groq immediately returned our request for remark.
